A texture material applicator device according to the present invention comprises a barrel for supporting a hollow shaft. The shaft is mounted on bearings for rotation about a central axis and for longitudinal translation along the axis. A supply of compressed air is provided to the shaft. The compressed air is expelled from the front end of the shaft at high speed.
