A portable cooler chest is disclosed having a collapsible storage bin for nonperishable items and wheels specially adapted for rolling on sand or soft soils. The collapsible storage bin includes foldable side panels and may be integrated with or separable from the lid of the chest. A cover is provided to cover the erected storage bin, or to enclose the collapsed storage bin between the cover and the lid.
