An ink roll, comprising a roll consisting essentially of a microporous thermoplastic structure of interconnected aggregates forming substantially uniform, unitary cohesive structure, and an ink impregnated in the microporous structure, wherein the microporous thermoplastic structure is made from a resin which consists essentially of a blend of a first polymer having particle sizes in the range of 1 to 100 m100 m600 m200 ips.
