A loading dock-aid is described that facilitates the lifting and placing of heavy dock plates between the edge of a dock and the back end of a delivery truck. The dock-aid has a lifting boom with a hooked end portion that is inserted into prescribed holes in the dock plate and that is connected via a yoke framework to a roller and an extended handle.
