An apparatus for removing ice from an airfoil utilizing pressurized fluid, said apparatus comprising, a bottom layer of a first fabric; a top layer of a stretchable second fabric; said top and bottom layers being stitched together in a predetermined pattern comprising a plurality of substantially parallel stitch lines and a zig-zag stitch line provided along each of at least two adjacent ones of said plurality of substantially parallel stitch lines, said plurality of substantially parallel stitch lines forming a plurality of tube-like passages which are inflated by the fluid, each said zig-zag stitch line forming a zig-zag pattern, wherein the pressurized fluid is communicated across said stitch lines, said stitch lines thereby providing a plurality of dimples in said tube-like passages when said tube-like passages are inflated.
