An improved method to provide cooling properties to common beverage containers or sport water bottles is described. Specifically, a thermal cooling insert is universally applicable for use in many such containers used by outdoors, bicycle and fitness enthusiasts. The thermal insert is comprised of a molded polyethylene hollow tube filled with a safe, non-toxic refrigerant material which imparts cooling benefit to beverages held inside the container for extended periods of time.
