An indexing part loader for orientating a part for transfer and subsequent use. A transfer machine has a carousel magazine mounted thereon, with each magazine containing a stack of parts. The parts are sequentially lifted out of the magazine by a pickup head. The pickup head has a displacement mechanism which advances the part into an indexing head.
