A (cyclo)aliphatic epoxy compound of formula I or II [Figure] (I) and [Figure] (II) wherein a is a radical of formula [Figure] A is a cyclohexyl radical or a hydrogenated radical of formula [Figure] R is a radical of formula [Figure] a monovalent to hexavalent aliphatic alcohol radical, an aromatic-aliphatic alcohol radical, a monovalent to tetravalent polyether or polyester radical, a monovalent to tetravalent polycaprolactone radical, a monovalent to tetravalent polyurethane radical or a radical of formula [Figure] and R1 is hydrogen or CH3, x is an integer from 1 to 6, y is an integer from 2 to 20, z is an integer from 1 to 10, and R3 and R4 are each independently of the other an aliphatic, aromatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon radical.
