Lever-mounted brake pads are applicable to two non-swiveling wheels at the rear of a hand truck. The pads are normally spaced away from the wheel treads by return springs. A foot pedal at the front of the truck is operable between two positions, one of them being a “brake off”position, and the other being a “brake on”position.
