A portable desk and cooperative file folder holder for use in a vehicle seat or house chair. When used in a vehicle, the desk and file holder are placed in the passenger seat next to the driver. The desk includes a horizontally disposed rectangular base member which rests on the seat when in use, and a back member pivotally attached to the base member and which rests vertically disposed adjacent the back rest of the seat when in use.
