A battery operated safety strobe barricade, particularly suited for school crossings. The use of a battery pack that is rechargeable and can be separated from the barricade enables the apparatus to be particularly well suited to safety situations where high visibility and weight are considerations. The A-frame stand section is fabricated from low weight aluminum so that it can be carried by even the smallest crossing guard.
