A preform injection mould includes an elongate mould core cooperating with a female mould and a neck ring in a manner to define a mould cavity therebetween. An injection nozzle in the female mould allows molten plastic to be injected into the mould cavity so that a preform moulded article may be formed. The neck ring is constituted by a pair of mating halves which can be separated laterally with respect to the longitudinal axis of the mould core.
