[ I claim:] [1.] A fluid for hydraulically fracturing an underground formation penetrated by a well bore consisting essentially of a liquified gas co-mingled with a non-liquified gas, wherein said liquified gas is liquified carbon dioxide and said non-liquified gas comprises one or more gases selected from the group consisting of nitrogen, air, exhaust gas, natural gas or inert gases, and wherein said fluid further includes proppants wherein said proppants are pressurized and cooled to substantially the pressure and temperature of said liquified gas prior to adding said proppants to said liquified gas.
