Each of the laser transmitters transmits a beam which is substantially smaller than the return beam received by the laser receiver. The laser receiver and each of the laser transmitters are configured to have a substantially common optical axis such that laser beams transmitted by the laser transmitters substantially overlap at a plane of interest so as to provide enhanced illumination thereby.
