A phytoestrogen oral supplement and ointment, and methods of preparing the supplement and ointment, are described. The oral phytoestrogen supplement is prepared by extracting pomegranate seeds with an aqueous solvent, and admixing the pomegranate seed extract with an herbal extract containing shizandra berries, Chinese asparagus root, and optionally Chinese licorice root and Chinese angelica root.
