[ What is claimed is:] [1.] An herbal based composition comprising, as components, about 10 to 30 percent by weight of a mixture of an aqueous extract and an alcohol extract of Gynostemma pentaphyllum, about 40 to about 75 percent by weight of a mixture of an aqueous extract and an alcohol extract of Crataegus pinnatifida (hawthorn berries), and about 10 to about 30 percent by weight of a mixture of an aqueous extract and an alcohol extract of Camellia sinensis (green tea).
