A waterproof material is disclosed herein which is obtainable by laminating many sheets of a photo-setting type fiber reinforced thermosetting resin composition comprising a resin composition containing a thermosetting resin, a photopolymerization initiator and a thickener, and a fiber reinforced material, or by laminating plural sheets of a synthetic polymer, and a waterproof application method using the waterproof material is also disclosed herein. [ What is claimed is:] [1.] A photo-setting sheet of waterproof material which is formed by dispersing a fiber reinforced material in a resin composition comprising a thermosetting resin, a photopolymerization initiator and a thickener to form a sheet of waterproof material comprising at least two layers having different hardness wherein the cured hardness of a soft layer of the waterproof material that is made to adhere to a substrate is lower than the cured hardness of a hard layer of the waterproof material.
