[ We claim:] [1.] A method of eliciting a T cell response in a human, wherein the T cell response is specific to cancer cells expressing a mutant p21 ras oncogene protein, comprising vaccinating said human with a corresponding mutant peptide consisting of an amino acid sequence found in normal p21 ras protein (Sequence I.D. No. 57 herein) that includes at least positions 8-17 of said protein but not more than positions 1-25 of said protein, but wherein the amino acid residues at positions 12 and 13 of said sequence are not both Gly, said peptide being capable of binding to both type DQ and type DR human leucocyte antigen (HLA) molecules.
