A method for arranging water circulation in a paper mill including a pulp manufacturing plant provided with a water circulation system, such as a TMP plant, and a paper machine provided with a water circulation system. In order to reduce the amount of fresh water supplied to the paper mill, a part of the amount of fresh water supplied to the paper mill is substituted for by water or waters cleaned locally from waters contaminated at the paper mill.
