Apparatus for providing a frothed mixture of milk, air and steam has a mild reservoir, and a steam boiler. A pump draws milk from the milk reservoir and delivers it to an inlet of a Y-connector forming a mixing chamber. A second inlet of the Y-connector is fed with steam. The pump and the steam pressure are controlled such that the milk and steam are substantially of an equal pressure. The milk-steam mix is fed to a jet and exits from its outlet nozzle.
