A composite drainage mat for preventing water and moisture from remaining trapped within walls and roofs of buildings which includes a weather barrier fixedly attached to a three-dimensional matrix filamentatious mat of a thermoplastic polyamide resin such as Nylon 6. The mat contains a great number of voids for permitting gas and liquid such as water to flow therethrough.
