A filter assembly for removing soot from gas from an engine includes a housing and a filter disposed in the housing. The housing includes a housing body and a cover disposed on the housing body. The housing body has an inlet connection to a gas line of an engine and an outlet. The cover is removable from the housing body without breaking fluid lines to the inlet or the outlet.
