An electric pyrotechnic cartridge or primer device comprises a generally cylindrical nonconductive plastic body having a conical cavity opening to one end wall, a rod-like electrode centered in the cavity and extending to the opposite end wall and a second rod-like electrode extending from a side wall of the body into the cavity in proximity to but spaced from the first electrode.
