An electric primer for small arms ammunition comprising:(a) an electrically conductive cup having an open top and a bottom having an aperture formed in the bottom;(b) an electrically insulating liner within the cup, the liner formed from at least one polymeric material resistant to chemicals, having an Impact Toughness of at least about 1.12 ft-lb/in, a Heat Distortion Temperature at 264 psi stress of at least about 289.degree.
