초록

The invention is directed to a chemical cleaning composition containing a hydroxylated wetting agent, a chelating agent, an emulsifier, optionally a crown ether, and optionally a non-aromatic solvent. The cleaning composition is 100% biodegradable, water-based, and able to remove adhered particles having a particle size of less than 35 micrometers. The invention also relates to a process for cleaning a substrate such as a gas turbine engine.

A composition comprising:about 10% to about 60% by weight of a hydroxylated wetting agent, wherein said hydroxylated wetting agent is one or more selected from the group consisting of polypropylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, glycerine, ethylene glycol, and propylene glycol;about 20% to about 40% by weight of a chelating agent;about 1% to about 45% by weight of an emulsifier; andabout 0.01% to about 2% by weight of a crown ether wherein all % by weight values are based on the total weight of the composition.
