The present invention is directed to a filter basket having a wall configured to form a basket. The wall has a drain hole formed in a lower portion thereof and a regulating member for regulating a flow of liquid flowing through the basket into the drain hole. One embodiment includes a pair of planar surfaces positioned within the basket and connected to an inner surface of the wall; the pair of planar surfaces define a longitudinal slot therebetween.
