Mineral fiber products, in particular rigid bonded mineral fiber products, are provided which comprise composite mineral fibers having a coating-core configuration wherein the core provides at least 90% by weight of the fibers and is formed of mineral melt and the coating is coated onto the core. The mineral melt is chosen so that the fibers without coating have adequate biological solubility and the coating comprises a phosphate or hydrogen phosphate of alkali metal, quaternary ammonium or ammonium in an amount of at least 0.3% or by weight of the core....
