The present invention relates to oil-in-water mascara compositions comprising water-insoluble polymeric materials in the form of an aqueous emulsion, water-soluble, film-forming polymers and organophilic clays. Said compositions exhibit improved wear and are removable with soap and water.

The present invention relates to oil-in-water mascara compositions comprising water-insoluble polymeric materials in the form of an aqueous emulsion, water-soluble, film-forming polymers and organophilic clays. A system in accordance with claim 6 wherein said at least one Group VIII metal is platinum. 8. A system in accordance with claim 6 wherein said porous carrier material is alumina. 9. A system in accordance with claim 6 wherein said at least one halogen is chlorine.
