The battery retaining system also includes a biasing member coupled to the retaining member and configured to urge the retaining member from the second position toward the first position. In some embodiments, the battery retaining system is further adapted to retain portions of the vehicle other than the battery assembly.

The vehicle of claim 1, wherein the battery retainer assembly includes a housing mounted on the body and adapted to slidably receive at least a portion of the retaining member, and where the biasing member includes a spring disposed within the housing. 18. The vehicle of claim 1, wherein the battery compartment is sized to at least substantially correspond to the size of the battery assembly. 19. The vehicle of claim 18, wherein the battery compartment includes a passage into which the catch at least partially extends when the battery cover is in the first cover position.
