A receiver system for antenna diversity employing a single backhaul cable. A single backhaul cable couples a receiver to a plurality of antennas. The signals from the antennas are combined onto the single backhaul cable using frequency offsets, spread spectrum code division, time division, or a combination thereof. At the receiver, the signals from the antennas are decoupled. In the case of the frequency offsets, the antenna signals are decoupled by splitting the backhaul signal into a plurality of duplicate signals, frequency shifting selected ones of the duplicate signals, and correlating said frequency shifted signals. In the case of spread spectrum code division, the antenna signals are decoupled by splitting the backhaul signal into a plurality of duplicate signals and demultiplexing each of the duplicate signals with a different spread spectrum code. One or more antennas may be selected for communication in response decoupling the antenna signals.

A method as claimed in claim 47 further comprising, at an internal node, determining the relationship of the prefix search key to a middle prefix key stored at the node and then comparing the prefix search key to one of low and high sets of prefix keys which are low and high relative to the middle prefix key. 57. A method as claimed in claim 56 wherein the middle prefix key is stored ahead of the low and high prefix keys in the internal node. 58. A method as claimed in claim 56 further comprising, at the leaf node, for a prefix within one of the high and low sets of prefixes, identifying an enclosing pointer within the low and high sets of search keys, respectively, and, when no such enclosing pointer is identified, following an enclosing pointer to a result associated with an enclosing prefix key which encloses a prefix key of the leaf node. 59. A method as claimed in claim 47 wherein the nodes are sized to optimize memory timing. 60. A method as claimed in claim 47 wherein the prefix keys of select nodes are only portions of prefixes. 61. A method as claimed in claim 60 further comprising, in each of the select nodes, identifying the portion of the prefix search key to be compared to the prefix keys. 62. A method as claimed in claim 47 further comprising, at least one internal node, identifying a subsequent node through a table lookup. 63. A method as claimed in claim 62 further comprising indexing the table by only a portion of the prefix search key. 64. A method as claimed in claim 47 further comprising, from the leaf node, locating a result through an enclosing pointer associated with an enclosing prefix key which encloses a prefix
