The device of claim 16, further comprising a handle portion attached to said proximate end. 18. The device of claim 17, wherein said handle portion is attached to said cup portion such that the longitudinal axis of said handle portion is at an angle to the longitudinal axis of said cup portion. 19. The device of claim 16, further comprising a gate attached to said proximate end, wherein said gate is operable to open to allow the loading of a block of source material in the solid state, and wherein said gate is operable to close to hold a block of source material in the solid state within said cup portion.
