The method according to claim 4, further comprising the step of causing the movable member to remove an unwanted projection formed on the casing. 8. A casing of an image sensor comprising: a light passage; and inner surfaces defining the light passage; wherein said inner surfaces are coated with a static electricity preventive for preventing the inner surfaces from electrostatically attracting particles; and wherein the static electricity preventive comprises a surface-active agent. 10. An image sensor comprising: a light source for illuminating an image-carrying document to be read; and a resin casing supporting the light source and provided with a light passage defined by inner surfaces of the casing; wherein the inner surfaces are coated with a static electricity preventive for preventing the inner surfaces from electrostatically attracting particles; and wherein the static electricity preventive comprises a surface-active agent.
