The delivery vehicle further comprises a stabilizing polyol glass loaded with the bioactive material and capable of releasing the bioactive material in situ. The present invention further includes methods of making and using the solid dose of the invention.

A combination comprising a plant bulb; and a composition comprising one or more plant derived, animal repellant chemicals; and one or more high molecular weight, resorbable polymers, wherein the polymers form a hydrolytically and enzymatically degradable matrix with the plant derived, animal repellant chemicals to permit sustained release of the chemicals. 27. The combination of claim 26, wherein the one or more polymers are bioerodible polymers. 28. The combination of claim 26, wherein the one or more polymers are absorbable polymers. 29. The combination of claim 26, wherein the one or more polymers are controlled release polymers. 30. The combination of claim 26, wherein the one or more polymers are selected from the group consisting of carboxy methyl cellulose, a polyorthoester, pluronics, and a lactide-glycolide co-polymer. 31. The combination of claim 26, wherein the one or more polymers comprise one or more of methyl cellulose and carboxy methyl cellulose. 32. The combination of claim 26, wherein the one or more polymers comprise pluronic F-127. 33. The combination of claim 26, further comprising one or more permeation enhancers for enhancing permeation, diffusion, and sorption of the animal repellant composition into the vegetation. 34. The combination of claim 26, further comprising one or more plant nutrients. 35. The combination of claim 34, wherein the plant nutrients comprise one or more nutrients selected from the group consisting of a nitrogen source, a phosphorus source, a potassium source, calcium, magnesium, sulfur, iron, copper, boron, manganese, zinc, and molybdenum. 36. The combination of claim 26, further comprising fertilizer. 37. The combination of claim 26, further comprising one or more plant rooting hormones. 38. The combination of claim 26, wherein the one or more plant derived, animal repellant chemicals comprise one or more alkaloids isolated from one or more members of the family Amaryllidaceae and the family Liliaceae. 39. The combination of claim 40, wherein the one or more polymers are bioerodible polymers. 42. The combination of claim 40, wherein the one or more polymers are absorbable polymers. 43. The combination of claim 40, wherein the one or more polymers are controlled release polymers. 44.
