A urine absorbent pouch for male incontinence which completely surrounds the patient's penis, thereby minimizing the patient's exposure to wetness. The pouch is constructed from a piece of material which has a hole portion and a continuous portion, the hole portion containing a hole which is adapted to receive a patient's penis. A plurality of sealing means are located along the edges of the hole portion so when the sealing means are sealed onto the continuous portion, there is minimal contact between the sealing means and the patient. Additionally, a urine absorbent pouch for male incontinence can be created from a commercially available baby diaper by cutting a hole in the diaper and attaching additional sealing means to the portion of the diaper with the hole.

A urine absorbent pouch for male incontinence comprising: (1) a piece of material, said material being substantially waterproof on one side, said material comprising a hole portion, a continuous portion, and a fold line, wherein said hole portion is separated from said continuous portion by said fold line; and said hole portion comprises: (a) a hole portion top edge located opposite said fold line; (b) two hole portion side edges located adjacent said fold line; and (c) a hole in said hole portion adapted to receive a penis; (2) a plurality of sealing means located along said top edges and side edges of said hole portion wherein said plurality of sealing means are adapted to create an enclosure when said material is folded along said fold line, said enclosure having said waterproof side of the outside of said enclosure; and (3) said enclosure and said sealing means along said top and side edges being adapted such that a top edge opening is created when said side edges are sealed but said top edge is not yet sealed, and said top edge opening is large enough to accommodate a person's hand being inserted so as to manipulate said patient's penis through said hole into said enclosure. 2. The urine absorbent pouch for male incontinence of claim 1 wherein said hole adapted to receive a penis is positioned closer to said top edge than said fold line. 3. The urine absorbent pouch for male incontinence of claim 2 wherein said sealing means comprises a top sealing strip on said top edge and a first and a second sealing strip on each side edge. 4. The urine absorbent pouch for male incontinence of claim 3, further comprising an elastic band, said elastic band surrounding and extending from said hole and adapted to provide tension around said penis. 5. The urine absorbent pouch for male incontinence of claim 3, wherein said hole further comprises a sleeve, said sleeve surrounding and extending from said hole and adapted to fit around said penis. 6. The urine absorbent pouch for male incontinence of claim 3 further comprising an outer garment worn over said urine absorbent pouch for male incontinence adapted to hold the position of said urine absorbent pouch for male incontinence. 7. The urine absorbent pouch for male incontinence of claim 6 wherein said outer garment is brief-style underwear.
