An insecticidal composition comprising: (a) a genetically engineered insect virus which contains an inserted gene that encodes an insecticidal neurotoxin, wherein said insecticidal neurotoxin is expressed in an insect pest when said insect pest is infected with the insect virus, wherein the genetically engineered insect virus is selected from the group consisting of Autographa calfornica and Heliothis armigera; and (b) an insecticide selected from the group consisting of a carbamate insecticide and an organophosphate insecticide, wherein said composition, when administered to an insect pest, produces supplemental synergism of insect kill time. 9. The insecticidal composition of claim 8, wherein the insecticidal neurotoxin is an arthropod toxin. 10. The insecticidal composition of claim 8, wherein the insecticidal neurotoxin is a scorpion, wasp, snail or spider toxin. 11. The insecticidal composition of claim 8, wherein the insecticidal neurotoxin is from Androctonus australis. 12. The insecticidal composition of claim 8, wherein the organic insecticide is an organophosphate insecticide. 13. The insecticidal composition of claim 12, wherein the organophosphate insecticide is profenofos. 14. The insecticidal composition of claim 8, wherein the organic insecticide is a carbamate insecticide. 15. The insecticidal composition of claim 14, wherein the carbamate insecticide is methomyl.
