The method of claim 2 wherein said detecting further comprises: placing said at least one of said plurality of component in a corresponding nest prior to said observing. 6. A method of attaching a plurality of components to a substrate, wherein each component has a fiducial marker, the method comprising: detecting an alignment of each of the fiducial markers on each component of said plurality of components; comparing the detected alignment of each of the fiducial markers with a predetermined fiducial alignment to determine whether any components of said plurality of components have a respective fiducial marker alignment offset; bypassing said components of said plurality of components having said respective fiducial marker alignment offset; attaching a remaining number of said plurality of components to the substrate; and transporting said bypassed components of said plurality of components to another apparatus for alignment. 7. The method of claim 6, wherein said detecting comprises: detecting an alignment of each of the fiducial markers corresponding to an alignment of leads attached to each said component of said plurality of components. 8. The method of claim 6, wherein said transporting further comprises: picking by a pick and place machine at least one of said bypassed components of said plurality of components and placing it on the another apparatus for alignment. 9. The method of claim 6 wherein said detecting further comprises: viewing an orientation of each of said fiducial markers on each component of said plurality of components with a camera; and continuously viewing each of said plurality of components with the camera. 10. The method of claim 6 further comprising: determining an alignment of each component of said plurality of components. 11. The method of claim 10 wherein said determining comprises: placing each component of said plurality of components in a corresponding nest having a recess therein with an asymmetric portion sized to correspond to and mate with a physical asymmetric fiducial marker on said each component of said plurality of components; and detecting whether any portion of said each component of said plurality of components protrudes from the corresponding nest in which it is received. 12. The method of claim 11 wherein said detecting comprises: emitting a radiation pattern across a surface of each said nest such that when one or more of said components of said plurality of components protrudes from said nest said radiation pattern is interrupted. 13. The method of claim 11 wherein said detecting comprises: sensing an amount of vacuum in each nest when one of said components of said plurality of components is received therein; and comparing said amount of vacuum with a predetermined amount of vacuum.
