A promotional coaster has a promotional panel releasably adhered to a coaster panel. The coaster panel has a liquid absorbing upper face and an opposite lower face, which may be provided by an overlaminate barrier layer, that is adhered to an upper face of the promotional panel. Indicia are printed on either or both panels at the interface between them.
