A fishing rod holder for mounting on a pedestal of and under a seat of a fishing chair carried by a deck of a boat. The fishing rod holder provides for retaining one or more fishing rods in a variety of angularly oriented positions, such a storage position and a position where the fishing lines are cast in the water. The holder is formed as an open frame defined by a top plate, a parallel bottom plate and a pair or more side plates extending between the top plate and the bottom plate. Openings in the top and bottom plates allow sliding of the holder on the pedestal of the fishing chair. Tubular members are secured on angular braces connecting the top plate(s) with the side plates. The tubular members receive ends of fishing rod handles when the fishing rods are oriented in the operational position.

The tubular members receive ends of fishing rod handles when the fishing rods are oriented in the operational position. to claim 3, wherein: said at least a single-phase bridge circuit includes a three-phase bridge circuit; one line inductor per phase; and one primary winding and one secondary winding of said output transformer per phase. 5. A power converter circuit according to claim 3, wherein: each phase of said power converter cell consists of one power switch in a TOP position and one power switch in a BOT position; and each of said power switches including at least one parallel-connected free-running diode, whereby each of the power switches in turn consists of one parallel-connection of several power transistors. 6. A power converter circuit according to claim 5, wherein said power transistors are insulated gate bipolar transistors. 7. A power converter circuit according to claim 1, wherein an output signal of each active power converter cell is monitored and controlled by its own control circuit. 8. A power converter circuit according to claim 1, wherein a master control unit makes the active power converter cells cyclically active or inactive, respectively, according to at least one of a fixed rhythm and at least one of a measured and calculated parameter. 9. A power converter circuit according to claim 1, wherein: a number of power converter cells is higher by n than a number that is required by generator output; and said n power converter cells are usable to compensate a function of said power converter circuit without a loss in output, even when as many as n power converter cells fail. 10. A power converter circuit according to claim 1, wherein said power converter circuit is adaptable to various generator output classes by changing the number of power converter cells. 11. A power converter circuit according to claim 1, wherein said medium-voltage primary windings receive reactive power during partial-load operation. A method as in claim 8, wherein step (d) further comprises the steps of turning a light on when the optical sensor determines a beginning of the night. 11. A method as in claim 10, wherein step (e) further comprises triggering an event that turns a light off when the electronic counter reaches zero. 12. A method as in claim 8, wherein step (e) further comprises reducing the count of the electronic counter by a factor of 2 for each solar half minute during the night to split the night in half and enable the triggering of an event exactly half way through the night. 13. A method as in claim 8, wherein step (e) further comprises reducing the count of the electronic counter by a factor of at least 2 for each solar half minute during the night to split the night in half and enable the triggering of an event in the night. 14. A method for using an accurate counter to split a night into selected portions, comprising the steps of: a) dividing a full day into a number of solar half minutes; b) loading an electronic counter at sunrise with the number of solar half minutes; c) reducing the count of the electronic counter by one for each solar half minute during daylight; d) testing continually with an optical sensor to determine when night begins; e) reducing the count of the electronic counter by a factor greater than 1 for each solar half minute during the night; and f) triggering an event when the electronic counter reaches zero. 15. A method as in claim 14 wherein step (f) further comprises triggering an event that turns a light on when the electronic counter reaches zero. 16. A method as in claim 14 wherein step (d) further comprises the step of turning a light on when the optical sensor determines a beginning of the night. 17. A method as in claim 16 wherein step (f) further comprises triggering an event that turns a light off when the electronic counter reaches zero. 18. A method as in claim 16 wherein step (e) further comprises reducing the count of the electronic counter by a factor of 2 for each solar half minute during the night in order to split the night in half and enable the triggering of an event exactly half way through the night. 19. A method as in claim 14 wherein step (e) further comprises reducing the count of the electronic counter by a factor greater than 2 for each solar minute during the night to enable the triggering of an event a selected time interval after sunset.
