An adjustable pedal drive mechanism for bicycles and exercise machines includes a pedal arm attachment plate assembly on each side of the cycle or machine frame. Each plate assembly provides adjustment of the pivotally attached pedal arm, for altering its arcuate travel path and limits. Each pedal arm and plate includes a mechanism for infinitesimally adjusting the corresponding tension member (cable, chain, etc.) to predetermined positional limits, for altering the system's mechanical advantage. The mechanical ratios of each pedal arm are independently adjustable by handlebar controls. The tension member is reciprocated back and forth with corresponding strokes of the corresponding pedal arm, producing rotary force to the rear wheel with each pedal stroke. The rear wheel sprockets/pulleys drive one way mechanisms (ratchets, cam and roller, etc.) on the rear wheel hub. A stationary stand may be provided for a bicycle incorporating the mechanism, for use as an exercise machine.

Tugboat comprising a ship's hull whereon is fitted a turnable towing installation, that can turn about 360 degrees with respect to that ship's hull in the horizontal plane, and that can turn about a substantially vertical connection to a station/deckhouse of the ship, said connection forming a solid connection between the station/deckhouse of the ship and the ship's hull, wherein said ship's hull is oblong and said turnable towing installation comprises a winch drum or towing point which turns about a substantially vertical shaft, wherein the diameter of the substantially vertical shaft is greater than half the width of the ship, and wherein the turnable towing installation and the position of the propellers are selected in such a manner with respect to the tugboat hull that, as a result of the direction of the thrust being selected independently of the ship's direction, the tugboat, when sailing freely, automatically begins to sail in this thrust direction, and the tugboat, when towing, automatically maneuvers into the optimum direction and position with respect to the object which is to be towed. pan DEF Agency; Mitsubishi Heavy Ind Ltd), Oct. 29, 1996. 96; US-4234977, 19801100, Snow, 005/419; US-4234978, 19801100, Snow, 005/419; US-D259458, 19810600, Fuller et al., D06/596; US-D284248, 19860600, Challen, D06/601; US-4712258, 19871200, Eves, 005/652; US-D306473, 19900300, Scheurer, D21/809; US-D308403, 19900600, LaForce, Jr., D21/809; US-5103514, 19920400, Leach, 005/655; US-D333752, 19930300, Mason, D06/596; US-D335999, 19930600, Van Driessche, D06/604; US-D342855, 19940100, Butler, III, D06/596; US-D357595, 19950400, Roschacher, D06/604; US-D370584, 19960600, Treadwell et al., D06/596; US-D381234, 19970700, Lupoff, D06/601; US-5652981, 19970800, Singer-Leyton et al., 005/631; US-5855033, 19990100, Frissen et al., 005/706; US-5974608, 19991100, Haller et al., 005/420; US-D419495, 20000100, Muhanna, 005/706; US-6138306, 20001000, Muhanna, 005/706; US-D455036, 20020400, Ku, D06/604; US-6393639, 20020500, Ohsner, 005/655; US-D463701, 20021000, Borcherding et al., D06/601; US-D463702, 20021000, Ku, D06/604; US-6463605, 20021000, Swagger, Jr., 005/420 r the article poster bed, as shown and described. -D380882, 19970700, Rorke et al.; US-D391708, 19980300, Canavan, D32/038; US-D392430, 19980300, Piccaluga et al.; US-D398097, 19980900, Murphy et al.; US-D426356, 20000600, Tsuruha; US-D444277, 20010600, Santiago; US-6442792, 20020900, Sudou et al. n, D02/918; US-D288861, 19870300, Vaccaro, D02/918; US-D434550, 20001200, LaBerge, D02/951; US-D453611, 20020200, Birkenstock, D02/917; US-D461040, 20020800, Urie et al., D02/954; US-D461949, 20020800, Urie et al., D02/969; US-D468080, 20030100, Matis et al., D02/952; US-D470296, 20030200, Masullo, D02/954; US-D479387, 20030900, Dal Magro, D02/916 , D14/218; US-D448724, 20011000, Hsiao, D13/107; US-D450674, 20011100, Song, D14/138; US-D451484, 20011200, Page et al., D14/137; US-D451897, 20011200, Hiroko, D14/138; US-D452684, 20020100, Sedan et al., D14/137; US-6347218, 20020200, Fuhrmann et al., 455/090.1; US-D455396, 20020400, Scott et al., D13/108; US-D456005, 20020400, Jokinen, D13/108; US-D456350, 20020400, Mott et al., D13/108; US-D458266, 20020600, Herath, D14/434; US-D458595, 20020600, Yin et al., D14/138; US-D459299, 20020600, Hughes et al., D13/108; US-D460446, 20020700, Hughes et al., D14/253; US-D463361, 20020900, Ruohonen, D13/108; US-D468280, 20030100, Kim et al., D14/138; US-D469073, 20030100, Muenscher et al., D14/149; US-D469075, 20030100, Chan, D14/149; US-D470118, 20030200, Miles et al., D14/144; US-D471578, 20030300, Okuley, D16/242; US-D472228, 20030300, Haines et al., D14/172 20011200, Vasquez, D13/168; US-6369798, 20020400, Yatsu et al.; US-6396482, 20020500, Griffin et al.; US-6462937, 20021000, Liao et al.; US-D475463, 20030600, Leyde et al., D24/200; US-20010038382, 20011100, Griffin et al.; US-20020000975, 20020100, Perkins et al.; US-20020021285, 20020200, Leman; US-20020143805, 20021000, Hayes et al.
