An apparatus is provided for relaxing an apneic obstruction in a nasopharyngeal airway of a patient. A bolus chamber and a rearward chamber are defined within a housing. A movable piston within the housing is actuated using a pair of magnets. When an impeller, mounted within the rearward chamber, rotates as a result of patient exhalation into the rearward chamber, the repulsive force between said magnets causes said piston to move and drive a bolus of air into the airway of the patient.

1. An apparatus for relaxing an apneic obstruction in a nasopharyngeal airway of a patient for alleviating sleep apnea, snoring or breathing difficulty, comprising:a housing having defined therein a bolus chamber and a rearward chamber;a piston mounted to be reciprocal within said housing;a rotatable impeller mounted within said rearward chamber; and,at least a pair of magnets, one said magnet attached to said impeller and the other said magnet attached to said piston, whereby upon rotation of said impeller resulting from airflow into said rearward chamber, a repulsive forced between said magnets causes said piston to move and drive a bolus of air from said bolus chamber into said airway. 2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said bolus chamber further comprises an outlet normally closed by a valve structure. 3. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a mask for placement on said patient. 4. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein said mask further comprises a normally-closed valve which permits said patient to complete breath intake voluntarily. 5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said bolus chamber is partially defined by a flexible rolling diaphragm. 6. The apparatus of claim 5, wherein a flexible disc valve is centrally located on said diaphragm. 7. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein apertures are provided in a face of said piston and normally blocked by said flexible disc valve. 8. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said impeller further comprises a spring recessed into a hub thereof for returning said impeller to a starting position to neutralize said repulsive force. 9. An apparatus for relaxing an apneic obstruction in a nasopharyngeal airway of a patient for alleviating sleep apnea, snoring or breathing difficulty, comprising:a bolus chamber defined within a housing and having an outlet normally closed by a valve structure;a rearward chamber defined within said housing and separated from said bolus chamber by a movable piston, wherein said rearward chamber is adapted to receive airflow from a conduit when said valve structure is closed;a rotatable impeller mounted within said rearward chamber, andat least a pair of magnets, one said magnet attached to said impeller and the other said magnet attached to said piston, whereby upon rotation of said impeller resulting from said airflow, a repulsive force between said magnets causes said piston to move and drive a bolus of air onto said airway. 10. The apparatus of claim 9, further comprising a mask for placement on said patient. 11. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein said mask further comprises a normally-closed valve which permits said patient to complete breath intake voluntarily. 12. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein said bolus chamber is partially defined by a flexible rolling diaphragm. 13. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein a flexible disc valve is centrally located on said diaphragm. 14. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein apertures are provided in a face of said piston and normally blocked by said flexible disc valve. 15. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein said impeller further comprises a spring recessed into a hub thereof for returning said impeller to a starting position to neutralize said repulsive force. 16. An apparatus for relaxing an apneic obstruction in a nasopharyngeal airway of a patient for alleviating sleep apnea, snoring or breathing difficulty, comprising:a mask;a housing attached to said mask; anda means within said housing for forcing a pressurized airflow into said airway, wherein said means is adapted to rotate and is driven to rotate by exhaled breath coming from said mask. 17. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein said mask further comprises a normally-closed valve which permits said patient to complete breath intake voluntarily. 18. An apparatus for relaxing an apneic obstruction in a nasopharyngeal airway of a patient for alleviating sleep apnea, snoring or breathing difficulty, comprising:an airflow generator for maintaining a constant head of pre ssurized airflow;a solenoid in fluid communication with said airflow generator, wherein said solenoid upon activation permits a burst of said pressurized airflow to pass there through,a dual valve assembly fluidly linked to said solenoid, whereby said dual valve assembly is adapted for receiving said burst of said pressurized airflow from said solenoid and further adapted for receiving said patient's exhalation;a normally-open electrical switch attached to said dual valve assembly for solenoid activation; anda mask in fluid communication with said dual valve assembly, wherein said mask comprises a normally-closed valve disposed thereon, with permits said patient to complete breath intake voluntarily. 19. The apparatus of claim 18, wherein said dual valve assembly further comprises a flexible diaphragm which seals apertures of said dual valve assembly when in a relaxed position. 20. The apparatus of claim 19, further comprises a spring-biased toggle located between said flexible diaphragm and said normally-open electrical switch to thereby enable said solenoid activation. 21. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein said flexible diaphragm further comprises a disc valve located thereon which opens in response to said burst of said pressurized airflow from said solenoid. 22. The apparatus of claim 18, wherein said solenoid is normally-closed.
