A muzzleloading bullet is provided with a pin at its back end for affixing a gas check thereto. Preferably, the pin is generally cylindrical in nature, and has a distal end that is larger compared to its proximal end that is attached to the body of the bullet. The pin therefore “expands” from its proximal to its distal end so that the resilient gas check may snap onto the pin for being secured to the bullet.
