The electric double layer capacitor according to claim 6, wherein an electrolyte of the formula 5 or 6: is contained in an amount of from 30 to 60%, monofluorobenzene is contained in an amount of from 0.1 to 30%, and dimethyl carbonate is contained in an amount of from 20 to 69%, in the total mass of the electrolytic solution.8. The electric double layer capacitor according to claim 7, wherein ethylmethyl carbonate is contained in an amount of from 0.1 to 30% in the total mass of the electrolytic solution.9. The electric double layer capacitor according to claim 6, wherein an electrolyte of the formula 7: is contained in an amount of from 15 to 60%, monofluorobenzene is contained in an amount of from 0.1 to 30%, and propylene carbonate is contained in an amount of from 10 to 84%, in the total mass of the electrolytic solution.10.
