An apparatus for use in conjunction with tubing assemblies and vessels comprising:a translucent body configured to be releasably coupled to a mating portion of a tubing assembly or to a vessel, the translucent body including an aperture extending therethrough; andan identification formation embedded within the translucent body and substantially surrounding the aperture in the translucent body, wherein the identification formation is a single and continuous element.14. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein the translucent body is a stopper.15. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein at least a portion of the identification formation is visible from a plurality of directions.16.
