A method of producing a soluble compound from a soluble compound containing oil shale formation, comprising: providing heat directly from one or more heaters to at least a portion of a hydrocarbon containing layer of a hydrocarbon containing formation; producing a mixture comprising hydrocarbons from the hydrocarbon containing formation; using heat from the hydrocarbon containing formation, heat from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation, or a component from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation to adjust a quality of a first fluid; providing the first fluid to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation; and producing a second fluid comprising a soluble compound from the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 2. The method of claim 1, further comprising pyrolyzing at least some hydrocarbons in the hydrocarbon containing layer. 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the soluble compound comprises alumina. 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the soluble compound comprises a metal. 5. The method of claim 1, wherein the soluble compound comprises a carbonate. 6. The method of claim 1, further comprising separating at least a portion of the soluble compound from the second fluid. 7. The method of claim 1, further comprising separating at least a portion of the soluble compound from the second fluid, and then recycling a portion of the second fluid into the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 8. The method of claim 1, further comprising introducing water into the hydrocarbon containing formation and using heat from the heated portion of the hydrocarbon containing layer of the hydrocarbon containing formation or using heat from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation to heat the water to produce hot water or steam. 9. The method of claim 1, wherein the quality of the first fluid that is adjusted is pH. 10. The method of claim 1, wherein the quality of the first fluid that is adjusted is temperature. 11. The method of claim 1, further comprising adding a dissolving compound to the first fluid that facilitates dissolution of the soluble compound in the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 12. The method of claim 1, further comprising producing CO 2 from the hydrocarbon containing formation, wherein the produced CO2 is used to adjust acidity of the first fluid. 13. The method of claim 1, wherein the soluble compound containing oil shale formation is at a different depth than the portion of the hydrocarbon containing layer. 14. The method of claim 1, wherein heat from the portion of the hydrocarbon containing layer migrates and heats at least a portion of the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 15. The method of claim 1, wherein the soluble compound containing oil shale formation is at a different location than the portion of the hydrocarbon containing layer. 16. The method of claim 1, further comprising using openings for providing the heaters, and further comprising using at least a portion of these openings to provide the first fluid to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 17. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing the solution to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation in one or more openings that were previously used to (a) provide heat to the hydrocarbon containing layer, or (b) produce the mixture from the hydrocarbon containing formation. 18. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing heat to the hydrocarbon containing layer, or producing the mixture from the hydrocarbon containing layer, using one or more openings that were previously used to provide a solution to another soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 19. The method of claim 1, further comprising: separating at least a portion of the soluble compound from the second fluid; providing heat to at least the portion of the soluble compound; and wherein the provided heat is generated in part using one or more products of an in situ conversion process. 20. The method of claim 1, wherein the heat provided from at least one heater is transferred to at least a part of the hydrocarbon containing layer substantially by conduction. 21. The method of claim 1, wherein the soluble compound containing oil shale formation comprises naheolite. 22. The method of claim 1, wherein greater than about 10% by weight of the soluble compound containing oil shale formation comprises nahcolite. 23. The method of claim 1, wherein the soluble compound containing oil shale formation comprises dawsonite. 24. The method of claim 1, wherein greater than about 2% by weight of the soluble compound containing oil shale formation comprises dawsonite. 25. The method of claim 1, wherein the first fluid comprises steam. 26. The method of claim 1, wherein the first fluid comprises steam, and further comprising providing heat to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation by injecting the steam into the formation. 27. The method of claim 1, further comprising heating at least a portion of the soluble compound containing oil shale formation before the first fluid is provided to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 28. A method of treating an oil shale formation in situ, comprising: injecting a first fluid into a part of the formation; producing a second fluid from the formation; providing heat directly from one or more heaters to at least a portion of the formation, wherein the heat is provided after production of the second fluid has begun; allowing the heat to transfer from at least the portion of the formation to the part of the formation; pyrolyzing at least some hydrocarbons within the part of the formation; and producing a mixture from the formation. 29. The method of claim 28, wherein the first fluid comprises water. 30. The method of claim 28, wherein the first fluid comprises steam. 31. The method of claim 28, wherein the second fluid comprises compounds that would decompose and/or react in the part to generate CO2 upon application of heat from the heaters. 32. A method of solution mining alumina from an oil shale formation, comprising: providing heat directly from one or more heaters to a least a portion of the formation; pyrolyzing at least some hydrocarbons in the portion; providing a brine solution to the portion of the formation; and producing a mixture comprising alumina and pyrolyzed hydrocarbons from the formation. 33. The method of claim 32, wherein the portion comprises dawsonite. 34. The method of claim 32, further comprising separating alumina from the mixture, and producing aluminum from the alumina. 35. A method of producing a soluble compound from a soluble compound containing oil shale formation, comprising: providing heat from one or more heaters to at least a portion of a hydrocarbon containing layer of a hydrocarbon containing formation; producing a mixture comprising hydrocarbons from the hydrocarbon containing formation; using heat from the hydrocarbon containing formation, heat from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation, or a component from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation to adjust a quality of a first fluid; providing the first fluid to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation; and producing a second fluid comprising a soluble compound from the soluble compound containing oil shale formation, wherein the soluble compound comprises a phosphate. 36. The method of claim 35, further comprising separating at least a portion of the soluble compound from the second fluid. 37. The method of claim 35, further comprising separating at least a portion of the soluble compound from the second fluid, and then recycling a portion of the second fluid into the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 38. The method of claim 35, further comprising introducing water into the hydrocarbon containing formation and using heat from the heated portion of the hydrocarbon containing layer of the hydrocarbon containing formation or using heat from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation to heat the water to produce hot water or steam. 39. The method of claim 35, wherein the quality of the first fluid that is adjusted is pH. 40. The method of claim 35, further comprising adding a dissolving compound to the first fluid that facilitates dissolution of the soluble compound in the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 41. The method of claim 35, wherein CO2 produced from the hydrocarbon containing layer is used to adjust acidity of the solution. 42. The method of claim 35, wherein heat from the portion of the hydrocarbon containing layer migrates and heats at least a portion of the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 43. The method of claim 35, further comprising using openings for providing the heaters, and further comprising using at least a portion of these openings to provide the first fluid to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 44. The method of claim 35, further comprising providing the solution to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation in one or more openings that were previously used to (a) provide heat to the hydrocarbon containing layer, or (b) produce the mixture from the hydrocarbon containing formation. 45. The method of claim 35, further comprising providing heat to the hydrocarbon containing layer, or producing the mixture from the hydrocarbon containing layer, using one or more openings that were previously used to provide a solution to a soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 46. The method of claim 35, further comprising: separating at least a portion of the soluble compound from the second fluid; providing heat to at least the portion of the soluble compound; and wherein the provided heat is generated in part using one or more products of an in situ conversion process. 47. The method of claim 35, wherein the first fluid comprises steam, and further comprising providing heat to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation by injecting the steam into the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 48. A method of producing a soluble compound from a soluble compound containing oil shale formation, comprising: providing heat from one or more heaters to at least a portion of a hydrocarbon containing layer of a hydrocarbon containing formation, wherein the portion of the hydrocarbon containing layer is at a different location than the soluble compound containing oil shale formation; producing a mixture comprising hydrocarbons from the hydrocarbon containing formation; using heat from the hydrocarbon containing formation, heat from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation, or a component from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation to adjust a quality of a first fluid; providing the first fluid to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation; and producing a second fluid comprising a soluble compound from the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 49. The method of claim 48, further comprising dissolving the soluble compound in the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 50. The method of claim 48, further comprising separating at least a portion of the soluble compound from the second fluid. 51. The method of claim 48, further comprising separating at least a portion of the soluble compound from the second fluid, and then recycling a portion of the second fluid into the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 52. The method of claim 48, further comprising introducing water into the hydrocarbon containing formation and using heat from the heated portion of the hydrocarbon containing layer of the hydrocarbon containing formation or using heat from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation to heat the water to produce hot water or steam. 53. The method of claim 48, wherein the quality of the first fluid that is adjusted is pH. 54. The method of claim 48, further comprising adding a dissolving compound to the first fluid that facilitates dissolution of the soluble compound in the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 55. The method of claim 48, wherein CO2 produced from the hydrocarbon containing layer is used to adjust acidity of the solution. 56. The method of claim 48, wherein the soluble compound containing oil shale formation is at a different depth than the portion of the hydrocarbon containing layer. 57. The method of claim 48, further comprising providing the solution to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation in one or more openings that were previously used to produce the mixture from the hydrocarbon containing formation. 61. The method of claim 48, further comprising providing heat to the hydrocarbon containing layer, or producing the mixture from the hydrocarbon containing layer, using one or more openings that were previously used to provide a solution to a soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 62. The method of claim 48, further comprising: separating at least a portion of the soluble compound from the second fluid; providing heat to at least the portion of the soluble compound; and wherein the provided heat is generated in part using one or more products of an in situ conversion process. 63. The method of claim 48, wherein the first fluid comprises steam, and further comprising providing heat to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation by injecting the steam into the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 64. A method of producing a soluble compound from a soluble compound containing oil shale formation, comprising: providing heat from one or more heaters to at least a portion of a hydrocarbon containing layer of a hydrocarbon containing formation; producing a mixture comprising hydrocarbons and CO2 from the hydrocarbon containing formation; using heat from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation, or a component from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation to adjust a quality of a first fluid, wherein CO2 produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation is used to adjust acidity of the first fluid; providing the first fluid to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation; and producing a second fluid comprising a soluble compound from the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 65. A method of producing a soluble compound from a soluble compound containing oil shale formation, comprising: providing heat from one or more heaters to at least a portion of a hydrocarbon containing layer of a hydrocarbon containing formation; producing a mixture comprising hydrocarbons from the hydrocarbon containing formation; using heat from the hydrocarbon containing formation, heat from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation, or a component from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation to adjust a quality of a first fluid, wherein the quality of the first fluid that is adjusted is pH; providing the first fluid to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation; and producing a second fluid comprising a soluble compound from the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 66. A method of producing a soluble compound from a soluble compound containing oil shale formation, comprising: using openings for providing one or more heaters; providing heat from one or more of the heaters to at least a portion of a hydrocarbon containing layer of a hydrocarbon containing formation; producing a mixture comprising hydrocarbons from the hydrocarbon containing formation; using heat from the hydrocarbon containing formation, heat from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation, or a component from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation to adjust a quality of a first fluid; using at least a portion of the openings to provide the first fluid to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation; and producing a second fluid comprising a soluble compound from the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 67. A method of producing a soluble compound from a soluble compound containing oil shale formation, comprising: providing heat from one or more heaters to at least a portion of a hydrocarbon containing layer of a hydrocarbon containing formation; producing a mixture comprising hydrocarbons from the hydrocarbon containing formation; using heat from the hydrocarbon containing formation, heat from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation, or a component from the mixture produced from the hydrocarbon containing formation to adjust a quality of a first fluid, wherein the first fluid comprises steam; providing the first fluid to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation, wherein providing the first fluid to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation comprises providing heat to the soluble compound containing oil shale formation by injecting the steam into the formation; and producing a second fluid comprising a soluble compound from the soluble compound containing oil shale formation. 68. A method of solution mining alumina from an oil shale formation, comprising: providing heat from one or more heaters to at least a portion of the formation; pyrolyzing at least some hydrocarbons in the portion; providing a brine solution to the portion of the formation after at least some hydrocarbons in the portion have been pyrolyzed; and producing a mixture comprising alumina and pyrolyzed hydrocarbons from the formation.
