The outer housing is adapted to couple to an inflatable bladder. In some embodiments, a majority of the pump and a valve assembly is positioned within the bladder.

A pump for moving air, having an air inlet and an air outlet, comprising: an outer housing adapted to couple to an inflatable bladder; an inner housing positioned within the outer housing and defining an air conduit between the inner housing and the outer housing; a motor positioned within the inner housing; a vane occupying a majority of a length of the air conduit; and an impeller positioned within the air conduit and between the inner housing and the outer housing and connected to the motor, wherein the pump is coupled to an inflatable device at a valve assembly. 2. The pump of claim 1, wherein the vane extends between an inner surface of the outer housing, and an outer surface of the inner housing. 3. The pump of claim 1, wherein the vane comprises a plurality of vanes. 4. The pump of claim 1, wherein the vane has a sweep. 5. The pump of claim 4, wherein the sweep of the vane gradually redirects fluid flowing through the air conduit from primarily rotational motion to primarily axial motion. 6. The pump of claim 1, wherein an average distance between an inner surface of the outer housing and an outer surface of the inner housing is less than about 25% of the average diameter of the outer housing. 7. The pump of claim 6, wherein the average distance between an inner surface of the outer housing and an outer surface of the inner housing is less than about 10% of the average diameter of the outer housing. 8. The pump of claim 7, wherein the average distance between an inner surface of the outer housing and an outer surface of the inner housing is less than about 5% of the average diameter of the outer housing. 9. The pump of claim 1, wherein the fluid conduit is free of dead end pockets. 10. The pump of claim 1, wherein the pump is permanently coupled to the inflatable device. 11. The pump of claim 1, wherein the pump comprises a pump housing that is distinct from the inner housing. 12. The pump of claim 1, wherein the impeller comprises fins that are distinct from the vanes. 13. A pump for moving air, having an air inlet and an air outlet, comprising: an outer housing adapted to couple to an inflatable bladder; an inner housing positioned within the outer housing and defining an air conduit between the inner housing and the outer housing; a motor positioned within the inner housing; a vane occupying a majority of a length of the air conduit; and an impeller positioned within the air conduit and connected to the motor, wherein the pump is coupled to an inflatable device at a valve assembly, and wherein a majority of the pump and the valve assembly are positioned within a profile of the inflatable bladder of the inflatable device. 14. The pump of claim 13, wherein the vane extends between an inner surface of the outer housing, and an outer surface of the inner housing. 15. The pump of claim 13, wherein the vane comprises a plurality of vanes. 16. The pump of claim 13, wherein the vane has a sweep. 17. An inflatable device, comprising a substantially fluid impermeable bladder; a valve assembly coupled to the bladder; and a hand holdable pump detachably connected to the valve assembly; wherein a majority of the hand holdable pump and the valve assembly are positioned within a profile of the bladder. 18. The inflatable device of claim 17, wherein the hand holdable pump comprises: an outer housing; an inner housing positioned within the outer housing and defining a fluid conduit between the inner housing and the outer housing; a motor positioned within the inner housing; a vane occupying a majority of the fluid conduit; and an impeller positioned within the fluid conduit and connected to the motor. 19. The inflatable device of claim 17, wherein the hand holdable pump is externally accessible. 20. An inflatable system, comprising: A. an axial discharge pump for moving air and having an air inlet and an air outlet, comprising: i. an outer housing adapted to couple to an inflatable bladder; ii. an inner housing positioned within the outer housing and defining an air conduit located about an axis of the pump between the inner housing and the outer housing the conduit extending annularly about the axis a majority of a distance between the air inlet and the air outlet; and iii. a motor positioned within the inner housing; iv. a plurality of vanes positioned within the air conduit; and B. an inflatable device coupled to the pump at a valve assembly. 21. The inflatable system of claim 20, wherein an average distance between an inner surface of the outer housing, and an outer surface of the inner housing is less than about 10% of an average diameter of the outer housing. 22. The inflatable system of claim 21, wherein the average distance between the inner surface of the outer housing, and the outer surface of the inner housing is less than about 5% of the average diameter of the outer housing. 23. The inflatable system of claim 20, wherein the pump comprises a pump housing that is distinct from the inner housing. 24. The inflatable system of claim 20 wherein an average distance between an inner surface of the outer housing, and an outer surface of the inner housing is less than about 25% of an average diameter of the outer housing. 25. The inflatable system of claim 20 wherein a vane occupies a majority of a length of the air conduit. 26. An inflatable device, comprising a substantially fluid impermeable bladder; a valve assembly coupled to the bladder; and a pump detachably connected to the valve assembly, wherein a majority of the pump is positioned within a profile of the bladder. 27. The inflatable device of claim 26, wherein the pump comprises: an outer housing; an inner housing positioned within the outer housing and defining a fluid conduit between the inner housing and the outer housing; a motor positioned within the inner housing; a vane occupying a majority of the fluid conduit; and an impeller positioned within the fluid conduit and connected to the motor. 28. The inflatable device of claim 26, wherein the pump is a hand holdable pump. 29. The inflatable device of claim 26, wherein the pump is an electric pump. 30. The inflatable device of claim 26, wherein the pump is externally accessible. 31. The inflatable device of claim 26, wherein the pump is coupled to the bladder in a position, and in the position the pump is adapted to permit air to exit the bladder through the pump and to be provided to the bladder through the pump.
