This invention relates to a process for reducing the level of pollutants in the exhaust of a diesel engine, comprising: operating said diesel engine using as the fuel a water-diesel fuel emulsion; and contacting the exhaust gas from said diesel engine with an oxidation catalyst.

A process for reducing the level of pollutants in the exhaust of a diesel engine, comprising: combusting a stabilized water-diesel fuel emulsion in the engine, the combustion of the emulsion generating an exhaust gas, the exhaust gas comprising carbon monoxide, gaseous phase hydrocarbons and diesel particulate matter, and flowing the exhaust gas over an oxidation catalyst to oxidize the carbon monoxide, gaseous phase hydrocarbons and diesel particulate matter wherein the oxidation catalyst displays passive lean NOx catalytic...
