A laminated spacer portion formed by laminating various thin films that constitute thin-film transistors is disposed in peripheral driver circuits. As a result, even in a structure in which part of a sealing member is disposed above the peripheral driver circuits, pressure exerted from spacers in the sealing member is concentrated on the laminated spacer portion, whereby destruction of a thin-film transistor of the peripheral driver circuits can be prevented caused by the pressure from the sealing portion.

An electric device having at least one liquid crystal display panel, said liquid crystal display panel comprising: an active matrix circuit over a substrate; a driver circuit over said substrate; at least one thin film transistor formed in the driver circuit, wherein said at least one thin film transistor comprises a semiconductor layer and a gate electrode with a gate insulating film interposed therebetween; a laminated structure formed over said substrate; a sealing member over said laminated structure; and at least one spacer over said laminated structure and included in said sealing member, wherein said laminated structure contains at least a layer comprising a same material as said semiconductor layer, wherein said laminated structure is formed over a portion of said substrate that is outside of a portion of said substrate over which said active matrix circuit and said driver circuit are formed, and wherein the driver circuit is formed between the laminated structure and the active matrix circuit. 2. The device according to claim 1 wherein said laminated structure has a function of a spacer. 3. The device according to claim 1 wherein said thin film transistor is a top-gate type. 4. The device according to claim 1 wherein said sealing member covers at least a portion of said driver circuit. 5. The device according to claim 1 wherein said device is one selected from the group consisting of a digital camera, an electric camera, a video movie, a personal computer, a navigation system, a projection image display apparatus, and a video camera. 6. The device according to claim 1 wherein said driver circuit is one selected from the group consisting of a shift register circuit, a buffer circuit, and a sampling circuit. 7. An electric device having at least one liquid crystal display panel, said liquid crystal display panel comprising: an active matrix circuit over a substrate, said circuit comprising at least one thin film transistor, an interlayer insulating film comprising a resin film formed over said thin film transistor, and a pixel electrode formed over said interlayer insulating film; a driver circuit over said substrate; a laminated structure formed over said substrate; a sealing member over said laminated structure; and at least one spacer over said laminated structure and included in said sealing member, wherein said laminated structure contains at least a layer comprising a same material as a semiconductor layer in said thin film transistor, and wherein said laminated structure is formed over a portion of said substrate that is outside of a portion of said substrate over which said active matrix circuit and said driver circuit are formed. 8. The device according to claim 7 wherein said laminated structure has a function of a spacer. 9. The device according to claim 7 wherein said thin film transistor is a top-gate type. 10. The device according to claim 7 wherein said sealing member covers at least a portion of said driver circuit. 11. The device according to claim 7 wherein said device is one selected from the group consisting of a digital camera, an electric camera, a video movie, a personal computer, a navigation system, a projection image display apparatus, and a video camera. 12. The device according to claim 7 wherein said driver circuit is one selected from the group consisting of a shift register circuit, a buffer circuit, and a sampling circuit. 13. An electric device having at least one liquid crystal display panel, said liquid crystal display panel comprising: an active matrix circuit over a substrate; a driver circuit over said substrate; at least one thin film transistor formed in the driver circuit, wherein said at least one thin film transistor comprises a semiconductor layer and a gate electrode with a gate insulating film interposed therebetween; a laminated structure formed over said substrate; a sealing member over said laminated structure; and at least one spacer over said laminated structure and included in said sealing member, wherein said laminated structure contains at least a first layer comprising a same material as said semiconductor layer and a second layer comprising a same material as said gate electrode, wherein said laminated structure is formed over a portion of said substrate that is outside of a portion of said substrate over which said active matrix circuit and said driver circuit are formed, and wherein the driver circuit is formed between the laminated structure and the active matrix circuit. 14. The device according to claim 13 wherein said laminated structure has a function of a spacer. 15. The device according to claim 13 wherein said thin film transistor is a top-gate type. 16. The device according to claim 13 wherein said sealing member covers at least a portion of said driver circuit. 17. The device according to claim 13 wherein said device is one selected from the group consisting of a digital camera, an electric camera, a video movie, a personal computer, a navigation system, a projection image display apparatus, and a video camera. 18. The device according to claim 13 wherein said driver circuit is one selected from the group consisting of a shift register circuit, a buffer circuit, and a sampling circuit. 19. An electric device having at least one liquid crystal display panel, said liquid crystal display panel comprising: an active matrix circuit over a substrate; a driver circuit over said substrate; at least one thin film transistor formed in the driver circuit, wherein said at least one thin film transistor comprises a semiconductor layer, a gate electrode adjacent to said semiconductor layer with a gate insulating film interposed therebetween, and at least one of source and drain electrodes electrically connected to said semiconductor layer; a laminated structure formed over said substrate; a sealing member over said laminated structure; and at least one spacer over said laminated structure and included in said sealing member, wherein said laminated structure contains at least a first layer comprising a same material as said semiconductor layer and a second layer comprising a same material as said at least one of source and drain electrodes, wherein said laminated structure is formed over a portion of said substrate that is outside of a portion of said substrate over which said active matrix circuit and said driver circuit are formed, and wherein the driver circuit is formed between the laminated structure and the active matrix circuit. 20. The device according to claim 19 wherein said laminated structure has a function of a spacer. 21. The device according to claim 19 wherein said thin film transistor is a top-gate type. 22. The device according to claim 19 wherein said sealing member covers at least a portion of said driver circuit. 23. The device according to claim 19 wherein said device is one selected from the group consisting of a digital camera, an electric camera, a video movie, a personal computer, a navigation system, a projection image display apparatus, and a video camera. 24. The device according to claim 19 wherein said driver circuit is one selected from the group consisting of a shift register circuit, a buffer circuit, and a sampling circuit. 25. An electric device having at least one liquid crystal display panel, said liquid crystal display panel comprising: an active matrix circuit over a substrate; a driver circuit over said substrate; at least one thin film transistor formed in the driver circuit, wherein said at least one thin film transistor comprises a semiconductor layer, a gate electrode adjacent to said semiconductor layer with a gate insulating film interposed therebetween, and at least one of source and drain electrodes electrically connected to said semiconductor layer; a laminated structure formed over said substrate; a sealing member over said laminated structure; and at least one spacer over said laminated structure and included in said sealing member, wherein said laminated structure contains at least a first layer comprising a same material as said semiconductor layer, a second layer comprising a same material as said gate electrode, and a third layer comprising a same material as said at least one of source and drain electrodes, and wherein said laminated structure is formed over a portion of said substrate that is outside of a portion of said substrate over which said active matrix circuit and said driver circuit are formed. 26. The device according to claim 25 wherein said laminated structure has a function of a spacer. 27. The device according to claim 25 wherein said thin film transistor is a top-gate type. 28. The device according to claim 25 wherein said sealing member covers at least a portion of said driver circuit. 29. The device according to claim 25 wherein said device is one selected from the group consisting of a digital camera, an electric camera, a video movie, a personal computer, a navigation system, a projection image display apparatus, and a video camera. 30. An electric device having at least one liquid crystal display panel, said liquid crystal display panel comprising: an active matrix circuit over a substrate; a driver circuit over said substrate; at least one thin film transistor formed in the driver circuit, wherein said at least one thin film transistor comprises a semiconductor layer, a gate electrode adjacent to said semiconductor layer with a gate insulating film interposed therebetween, and at least one of source and drain electrodes electrically connected to said semiconductor layer; a laminated structure formed over said substrate; and a sealing member over said laminated structure, wherein said laminated structure contains at least a first layer comprising a same material as said semiconductor layer, a second layer comprising a same material as said gate electrode, and a third layer comprising a same material as said at least one of source and drain electrodes, and wherein said laminated structure is formed over a portion of said substrate that is outside of a portion of said substrate over which said active matrix circuit and said driver circuit are formed. 32. The device according to claim 31 wherein said laminated structure has a function of a spacer. 33. The device according to claim 31 wherein said thin film transistor is a top-gate type. 34. The device according to claim 31 wherein said sealing member covers at least a portion of said driver circuit. 35. The device according to claim 31 wherein said device is one selected from the group consisting of a digital camera, an electric camera, a video movie, a personal computer, a navigation system, a projection image display apparatus, and a video camera. 36. An electric device having at least one liquid crystal display panel, said liquid crystal display panel comprising: an active matrix circuit over a substrate; a driver circuit over said substrate; at least one thin film transistor formed in the driver circuit, wherein said at least one thin film transistor comprises a semiconductor layer, a gate electrode adjacent to said semiconductor layer with a gate insulating film interposed therebetween, and at least one of source and drain electrodes electrically connected to said semiconductor layer; a laminated structure formed over said substrate; and a sealing member over said laminated structure, wherein said laminated structure contains at least a first layer comprising a same material as said semiconductor layer, a second layer comprising a same material as said gate electrode, and a third layer comprising a same material as said at least one of source and drain electrodes, wherein said laminated structure is formed over a portion of said substrate that is outside of a portion of said substrate over which said active matrix circuit and said driver circuit are formed, and wherein the driver circuit is formed between the laminated structure and the active matrix circuit. 38. The device according to claim 37 wherein said laminated structure has a function of a spacer. 39. The device according to claim 37 wherein said thin film transistor is a top-gate type. 40.
