A golf ball comprising a core and a layer about the core, wherein the layer comprises a material formed from a composition comprising at least one polymer having a plurality of amide linkages and a plurality of cationic moieties attached thereto, wherein the polymer is a reaction product of at least one isocyanate-containing prepolymer and at least one isocyanate-reactive curative, and wherein the prepolymer has at least one of the following structures: where A and B are independently chosen from linear, branched, and cyclic moieties having 2-60 carbon atoms; Z is chosen from cationic moieties; and n is a number of 1 or greater. 2. The golf ball of claim 1, wherein the prepolymer is a reaction product of at least one polyisocyanate and at least one telechelic formed from at least one polyamine polyamide and at least one cyclic ester or hydroxy acid. 3. The golf ball of claim 1, wherein the prepolymer is a reaction product of at least one polyisocyanate and at least one telechelic formed from at least one polyacid polyamide and at least one aminoalcohol or polyol amine. 4. The golf ball of claim 1, wherein the prepolymer is a reaction product of at least one polyisocyanate and at least one telechelie formed from at least one polyamine or polyol and at least one cyclic amide or amino acid. 5. The golf ball of claim 1, wherein the layer is an outer cover layer. 6. The golf ball of claim 1, wherein the layer is an intermediate layer between the core and an outer cover layer. 7. The golf ball of claim 1, wherein the layer has a thickness of 0.125 inches or less and a Shore D hardness of from 20 to 80. 8. The golf ball of claim 1, wherein the composition further comprises quaternizable moieties. 9. The golf ball of claim 8, wherein a molar ratio of the quaternizable moieties to the cationic moieties is 70:30 or less. 10. The golf ball of claim 9, wherein the molar ration is 20:80 to 5:95. 11. The golf ball of claim 1, wherein the material is thermoplastic, thermosetting, castable, and/or millable. 12. A golf ball comprising a core and a layer about the core, wherein the layer comprises a material formed from a composition comprising at least one polymer having a plurality of amide linkages and a plurality of cationic moieties attached thereto, wherein the polymer is a reaction product of at least one isocyanate-containing prepolymer and at least one isocyanate-reactive curative, at least one of the prepolymer and the curative comprising at least a portion of the amide linkages and/or the cationic moieties, wherein the prepolymer is a reaction product of at least one polyisocyanate and at least one telechelic formed at least in part from at least one compound selected from the group consisting of cyclic ethers, diols, cyclic esters, monocarboxylic acids, polycarboxylic acids, mono-anhydrides, polyanhydrides, cyclic amides, diamines, cyclic siloxanes, (meth)acrylic acids, fatty polyacids, unsaturated carboxylic acids, unsaturated fatty acids, hydroxy acids, and amino acids, and wherein the compound comprises at least one moiety chosen from ammonium cations, amide linkages, secondary amine moieties, and tertiary amine moieties. 13. A golf ball comprising a core and a layer about the core, wherein the layer comprises a material formed from a composition comprising at least one polymer having a plurality of amide linkages and a plurality of cationic moieties attached thereto, wherein the polymer is a reaction product of at least one isocyanate-containing prepolymer and at least one isocyanate-reactive curative, at least one of the prepolymer and the curative comprising at least a portion of the amide linkages and/or the cationic moieties, wherein the prepolymer is formed from at least one telechelic and at least one polyisocyanate, wherein the polyisocyanate has at least one of the following structures: where B is chosen from linear, branched, and cyclic moieties having 2-60 carbon atoms; Z is chosen from cationie moieties; and n is a number of 1 or greater. 14. The golf ball of claim 13, wherein the curative has at least one of the following structures: where D is chosen from linear, branched, and cyclic moieties having 2-60 carbon atoms; Z is chosen from cationic moieties; X1 and X2 are independently chosen from isocyanate-reactive moieties; and n is a number of 1 or greater. 15. The golf ball of claim 14, wherein the curative is formed from at least one polyamine or polyol and at least one compound comprising at least one cationic moiety and/or at least one amide linkage. 16. The golf ball of claim 14, wherein the curative comprises at least one cationic moiety formed by at least one quaternizing agent from a moiety chosen from amide linkages, secondary amine moieties, and tertiary amine moieties.
