Disclosed is a music jukebox which is configured for storing a music library therein. The music jukebox includes a housing, audio input structure on the housing for receiving audio signals, audio output structure on the housing for outputting audio signals, and a data storage structure in the housing for storing audio signals. The music jukebox is configured such that a music library of sound tracks is storable in the data storage structure. The music jukebox includes means for selecting a sound track from the music library stored in the data storage structure to play through the audio output structure, and the housing includes a display thereon which identifies sound tracks in the music library. Preferably, the music jukebox is configured such that the sound tracks stored in the data storage structure are editable before being played through the audio output structure.

What is claimed is: 1. A personal digital stereo music player comprising: a unitary, integral, non-articulated housing having a front panel and containing at least memory and a dedicated processor connected to the memory and configured specifically for maintaining and selectively accessing and play
What is claimed is: 1. A personal digital stereo music player comprising: a unitary, integral, non-articulated housing having a front panel and containing at least memory and a dedicated processor connected to the memory and configured specifically for maintaining and selectively accessing and playing songs stored in the memory; a digital display installed in the housing and being visible on said front panel, said display being controlled by the processor, wherein the processor is configured to cause the display to selectively display a plurality of menus, wherein the menus include at least one of a list of song names and a list of groups of songs; a headphone jack in the housing; an input in the housing for receiving digital music data; an amplifier operatively connected to the processor and the headphone jack and configured to amplify audio output signals produced during playing, which are transmitted to the headphone jack; and at least one touch-operable control in the housing and in communication with the processor, wherein the processor is configured such that said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to allow selection from the menus which the processor displays on the display, wherein said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to direct the processor to play a specific song, wherein said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to control the volume at which audio is played, wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured such that a user can select and play individual songs, wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured to display on the display at least one of time elapsed (ascending) and time remaining (descending) for the song being played, and wherein the housing includes a front panel and at least one of said at least one touch-operable control and the display are on the front panel; said at least one touch-operable control further comprising at least one manually operable function controller located on said front panel with said display for controlling said processor to cause said music player to selectively carry out at least two of the functions start, stop, pause, advance and reverse the playing of songs. 2. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, wherein the personal digital music player is configured to maintain a master song list and is configured to display the master song list on the display. 3. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, wherein said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to select a specific group of songs for play back through the headphone jack. 4. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, wherein said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to sort the songs which are stored in the memory. 5. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, wherein said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to sort the songs which are stored in the memory, and wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured such that the songs which are stored in the memory are sortable alphanumerically. 6. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, wherein said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to select and play a group of songs in a personalized play list. 7. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured to display on the display at least one of time elapsed (ascending) and time remaining (descending) for the song being played. 8. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, further comprising at least one of a line in and a line out jack in the housing. 9. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, further comprising a microphone in the housing. 10. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured such that the memory stores a library of songs that is received by the input and which has been pre-selected by a user. 11. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, wherein the memory comprises at least one of a Hard Disk Drive, solid state memory, and random address memory. 12. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, wherein said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to create a group of specific songs from the library of songs stored in the memory. 13. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, wherein said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to create a personalized play list from the library of songs stored in the memory. 14. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, wherein the processor is configured such that a sound level indicator is displayable on the display. 15. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, wherein the processor is configured such that a sound level indicator is displayable on the display, and wherein the sound level indicator comprises at least one bar. 16. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, further comprising at least one digital interface. 17. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, further comprising at least one digital interface communicatingly connected to at least one of a Serial Interface Bus and a Digital Signal Processor. 18. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, further comprising at least one digital interface that is compatible with an SPDIF signal. 19. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, wherein said personal digital stereo music player is configured to receive at least one of a compact disc and a DVD. 20. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 1, wherein said personal digital stereo music player is configured such that said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to edit a song which is stored in the memory. 21. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 1, wherein said at least one touch-operable control comprises a button. 22. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 1, further comprising a touch-operable control on the front panel which is touchable to turn the personal digital stereo music player on and off, wherein the display is also on the front panel. 23. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 1, further comprising a touch-operable control on the front panel which is touchable to turn the personal digital stereo music player on and off, wherein the display is also on the front panel, and wherein the touch-operable control which is touchable to turn the personal digital stereo music player on and off, and wherein the display and touch-operable control are co-planar. 24. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 1, wherein the processor is configured such that at least one of the capacity of the memory and how much of the memory is available is displayable on the display. 25. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 1, wherein said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to pause music which is being played. 26. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 1, wherein said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to stop a song as it is being played and play the next song in a list of songs. 27. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 1, wherein said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to play a song in reverse. 28. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 1, wherein the processor is configured such that, as a song is being played, the position of the song in a list of songs is displayed on the display. 29. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 1, further comprising an output in the housing and in communication with the processor, said output being configured to transmit signals to an external device which includes an amplifier. 30. A personal digital stereo music player comprising: a unitary, integral housing having at least one control panel with at least one touch-operable control thereon: at least one memory and a dedicated processor in said housing, said processor being connected to the memory and configured specifically for maintaining and selectively accessing and playing songs stored in the memory; a digital display installed in the housing and being visible with said control panel, said display being controlled by the processor, wherein the processor is configured to use the display to display a plurality of menus, wherein the menus include at least one of a list of song names and a list of groups of songs; a headphone jack in the housing; an input in the housing for receiving digital music data; an amplifier connected to the processor and the headphone jack and configured to amplify audio output signals produced during playing which are transmitted to the headphone jack; and at least one touch-operable control in the housing and in communication with the processor, wherein the processor is configured such that at least one touch-operable control is touchable to allow selection from the menus which the processor causes to be displayed on the display, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to direct the processor to play a specific song, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to control the volume at which audio is played, wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured such that a user can select and play individual songs or groups of songs, and wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured to display on the display at least one of time elapsed (ascending) and time remaining (descending) for the song being played; said at least one touch-operable control further comprising at least one manually operable function controller located on said control panel adjacent said display for controlling said processor to cause said personal digital stereo music player to selectively carry out at least two of the functions start, stop, pause, advance and reverse the playing of songs. 31. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, wherein the personal digital music player is configured to maintain a master song list and is configured to display the master song list on the display. 32. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to select a specific group of songs for play back. 33. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to sort the songs which are stored in the memory. 34. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to sort the songs which are stored in the memory, and wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured such that the songs which are stored in the memory are sortable alphanumerically. 35. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured to display on the display at least one of time elapsed (ascending) and time remaining (descending) for the song being played. 37. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, further comprising at least one of a line in and a line out jack in the housing. 38. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, further comprising a microphone in the housing. 39. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured such that the memory stores a library of songs that is received by the input and which has been pre-selected by a user. 40. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, wherein the memory comprises at least one of a Hard Disk Drive, solid state memory, and random address memory. 41. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to create a group of specific songs from the library of songs stored in the memory. 42. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, wherein the processor is configured such that a sound level indicator is displayable on the display, and wherein the sound level indicator comprises at least one bar. 45. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, further comprising at least one digital interface. 46. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, further comprising at least one digital interface communicatingly connected to at least one of a Serial Interface Bus and a Digital Signal Processor. 47. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, further comprising at least one digital interface that is compatible with an SPDIF signal. 48. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, wherein personal digital stereo music player is configured to receive at least one of a compact disc and a DVD. 49. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 30, wherein said personal digital stereo music player is configured such that at least one touch-operable control is touchable to edit a song which is stored in the memory. 50. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 30, wherein at least one touch-operable control comprises a button. 51. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 30, wherein the housing includes a front panel and the personal digital stereo music player further comprises a touch-operable control on the front panel which is touchable to turn the personal digital stereo music player on and off, wherein the display is also on the front panel. 52. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 30, wherein the housing includes a front panel and the personal digital stereo music player further comprises a touch-operable control on the front panel which is touchable to turn the personal digital stereo music player on and off, wherein the display is also on the front panel, and wherein the touch-operable control which is touchable to turn the personal digital stereo music player on and off, and wherein the display and the touch-operable control are co-planar. 53. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 30, wherein the processor is configured such that at least one of the capacity of the memory and how much of the memory is available is displayable on the display. 54. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 30, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to pause music which is being played. 55. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 30, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to stop a song as it is being played and play the next song in a list of songs. 56. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 30, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to at least play a song in reverse. 57. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 30, wherein the processor is configured such that, as a song is being played, the position of the song in a list of songs is displayed on the display. 58. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 30, further comprising an output in the housing and in communication with the processor, said output being configured to transmit signals to an external device which includes an amplifier. 59. A personal digital stereo music player comprising: a unitary, integral, housing containing at least memory and a dedicated processor connected to the memory and configured specifically for maintaining and selectively accessing and playing songs stored in the memory; at least one digital interface in the housing and in communication with said processor; a display in the housing and controlled by the processor, wherein the processor is configured to cause the display to display a plurality of menus, wherein the menus include at least one of a list of song names and a list of groups of songs; a headphone jack in the housing; an input in the housing for receiving digital music data; an amplifier operatively connected to the processor and the headphone jack and configured to amplify audio output signals produced during playing which are transmitted to the headphone jack; and at least one touch-operable control in the housing and in communication with the processor, wherein the processor is configured such that at least one touch-operable control is touchable to allow selection from the menus which the processor displays on the display, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to direct the processor to play a specific song, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to control the volume at which audio is played, and wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured such that a user can select and play individual songs, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to select a specific group of songs for play back, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to sort the songs which are stored in the memory, wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured such that the songs which are stored in the memory can be sorted alphanumerically, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to select and play a group of songs in a personalized play list, wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured to display on the display at least one of time elapsed (ascending) and time remaining (descending) for the song being played, wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured such that the memory stores a library of songs that is received by the input and which has been pre-selected by a user, wherein the memory comprises at least one of a Hard Disk Drive, solid state memory, and random address memory, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to create a personalized play list from the songs stored in the memory, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to pause a song which is being played, and wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to stop a song as it is being played and play the next song in a list of songs. 60. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 59, wherein the personal digital music player is configured to maintain a master song list and is configured to display the master song list on the display. 61. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 59, further comprising at least one of a line in and a line out jack disposed in the housing. 62. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 59, wherein said external digital interface is communicatingly connected to at least one of a Serial Interface Bus and a Digital Signal Processor. 66. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 59, wherein said external digital interface comprises an interface that is compatible with an SPDIF signal. 67. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 59, wherein said personal digital stereo music player is configured to receive at least one of a compact disc and a DVD. 68. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 59, wherein said personal digital stereo music player is configured such that at least one touch-operable control is touchable to edit a song which is stored in the memory. 69. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 59, wherein at least one touch-operable control comprises a button. 70. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 59, wherein the housing includes a front panel and the personal digital stereo music player further comprises a touch-operable control on the front panel which is touchable to turn the personal digital stereo music player on and off, wherein the display is also on the front panel. 71. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 59, wherein the housing includes a front panel and the personal digital stereo music player further comprises a touch-operable control on the front panel which is touchable to turn the personal digital stereo music player on and off, wherein the display is also on the front panel, and wherein the touch-operable control which is touchable to turn the personal digital stereo music player on and off, and wherein the display and the touch-operable control are co-planar. 72. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 59, wherein the processor is configured such that at least one of the capacity of the memory and how much of the memory is available is displayable on the display. 73. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 59, wherein the processor is configured such that, as a song is being played, the position of the song in a list of songs is displayed on the display. 74. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 59, further comprising an output in the housing and in communication with the processor, output being configured to transmit signals to an external device which includes an amplifier. 75. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 59, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to play a song in reverse. 76. A personal digital stereo music player as described in claim 59, wherein the housing is non-articulated. 77. Apparatus for permitting a user to selectively read and write digital data defining at least a plurality of musical sound tracks, and to manage at least said plurality of musical sound tracks to facilitate playing of said sound tracks selected by the user in a desired order, said apparatus comprising: a unitary, integral housing having at least one control panel and containing at least one memory and a single dedicated processor connected to said memory and configured to manage and selectively access and play the sound tracks stored in said at least one memory; a digital display in stalled in said housing and being visible with said at least one control panel, said display being controlled by said processor, wherein said processor is configured to control said display to display a plurality of menus, wherein said menus include at least one of the names of said sound tracks and a list of groups of names of said sound tracks; a headphone jack in said housing; an amplifier connected to said processor and said headphone jack and configured to amplify audio output signals produced during playing which are transmitted to said headphone jack; and at least one touch-operable control in said housing for controlling said processor, said control enabling the user to select and play individual sound tracks from said menus, said control being touchable to control the volume at which said sound tracks are played, said apparatus being configured to display on the display at least one of time elapsed (ascending) and time remaining (descending) for the song being played; said at least one touch-operable control further comprises at least one manually operable function controller located on said at least one control panel for controlling said processor to cause said apparatus to selectively carry out at least two of the functions start, stop, pause, advance and reverse the playing of sound tracks. 78. Apparatus as defined in claim 77 wherein said processor causes information relating to sound tracks that the user has selected for play to be displayed on said display. 79. Apparatus as defined in claim 77 further comprising an input in said housing for receiving digital data defining said musical sound tracks. 80. Apparatus as defined in claim 77 wherein said processor is configured to permit the user to use said control to change the play order of individual sound tracks within said menus. 81. Apparatus as defined in claim 77 wherein said processor is configured to permit the user to use said control to add and/or delete individual sound tracks within said menus. 82. A personal digital stereo audio player comprising: a unitary housing having at least one control panel and containing at least memory and a single dedicated processor connected to said memory and configured to permit a user to manage and selectively access and play sound tracks stored as individual sound tracks and/or as part of one or more menus in said memory; a digital display installed in said housing and being visible with said control panel, said display being controlled by said processor, wherein said processor is configured to cause said display to selectively display said one or more menus, wherein said menus include at least one of a list of sound track names and a list of groups of sound tracks; a headphone jack in said housing; an input in said housing for receiving digital data defining sound tracks for writing in said memory; an amplifier operatively connected to said processor and said headphone jack and configured to amplify audio output signals produced and transmitted to said headphone jack during playing of said sound tracks; and at least one touch-operable control in said housing and in communication with said processor, wherein said processor is configured such that at least one touch-operable control is touchable by the user to allow selection from said menus which said processor displays on said display, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to direct said processor to play at least one of said sound tracks, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to control the volume at which said sound track is played; said control enabling the user to manage said sound tracks by selectively defining one or more play lists of sound tracks, selectively adding and deleting sound tracks to and from said play lists, and selectively deleting sound tracks from one or more of said menus; said control further comprising manually operable function controllers located on said at least one control panel with said display for controlling said processor to cause said personal digital stereo audio player to selectively carry out at least two of the functions start, stop, pause, advance and reverse the playing of sound tracks. 83. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 60, wherein said personal digital stereo music player is configured such that at least one touch-operable control is touchable to delete a song from said master song list. 84. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 82 wherein said amplified audio output signals produced by said amplifier are exclusively transmitted to said headphone jack. 85. A personal digital stereo music player comprising: a unitary, integral, housing containing at least memory and a dedicated processor connected to the memory and configured for maintaining and selectively accessing and playing songs stored in the memory; at least one digital interface in the housing and in communication with said processor; a display in the housing and controlled by the processor, wherein the processor is configured to cause the display to display a plurality of menus, wherein the menus include at least one of a list of song names and a list of groups of songs; a headphone jack in the housing; an input in the housing for receiving digital music data; an amplifier operatively connected to the processor and the headphone jack and configured to amplify audio output signals produced during playing which are transmitted to the headphone jack; and at least one touch-operable control in the housing and in communication with the processor, wherein the processor is configured such that said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to allow selection from the menus which the processor causes to be displayed on the display, wherein said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to direct the processor to play a specific song, wherein said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to control the volume at which audio is played, and wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured such that a user can select and play at least one of an individual song and a group of songs, wherein said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to select and play at least one of an individual song and a group of songs through the headphone jack, wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured to display on the display at least one of time elapsed (ascending) and time remaining (descending) for the song being played, wherein the personal digital stereo music player is configured such that the memory stores a library of songs that is received by the input and which has been pre-selected by a user, wherein the memory comprises at least one of a Hard Disk Drive, solid state memory, and random address memory, wherein at least one touch-operable control is touchable to pause a song which is being played, wherein said at least one touch-operable control is touchable to stop a song as it is being played and play the next song in a list of songs, and wherein at least one touch operable control is touchable to turn the personal digital stereo music player on and off. 86. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 85, wherein the personal digital music player is configured to maintain a master song list and is configured to display the master song list on the display. 87. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 85, further comprising at least one of a line in and a line out jack disposed in the housing. 88. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 85, further comprising a microphone in the housing. 89. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 85, wherein the processor is configured such that a sound level indicator is displayable on the display. 90. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 85, wherein the processor is configured such that a sound level indicator is displayable on the display, wherein the sound level indicator comprises at least one bar. 91. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 85, wherein said digital interface is communicatingly connected to at least one of a Serial Interface Bus and a Digital Signal Processor. 92. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 85, wherein said digital interface comprises an interface that is compatible with an SPDIF signal. 93. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 85, wherein the housing includes a front panel and the personal digital stereo music player further comprises a touch-operable control on the front panel which is touchable to turn the personal digital stereo music player on and off, wherein the display is also on the front panel. 96. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 85, wherein the housing includes a front panel and the personal digital stereo music player further comprises a touch-operable control on the front panel which is touchable to turn the personal digital stereo music player on and off, wherein the display is also on the front panel, and wherein the touch-operable control which is touchable to turn the personal digital stereo music player on and off, and wherein the display and the touch-operable control are co-planar. 97. A personal digital stereo music player as recited in claim 85, wherein the processor is configured such that at least one of the capacity of the memory and how much of the memory is available is displayable on the display. 98.
