Weight sensor for determining the weight of an occupant of a seat including a bladder arranged in a seat portion of the seat and including material or structure in an interior thereof which constrains fluid flow therein and one or more transducers for measuring the pressure of the fluid in the bladder. The material or structure might be open cell foam. The bladder may include one or more chambers, and if more than one chamber is formed, each chamber can be arranged at a different location in the seat portion of the seat.

We claim: 1. A vehicle, comprising: a seat having a bottom portion and a bladder arranged in said bottom portion, said bladder having at least one chamber; at least one component adjustable based on occupancy of said seat, said at least one component being a component which interacts with or is int
We claim: 1. A vehicle, comprising: a seat having a bottom portion and a bladder arranged in said bottom portion, said bladder having at least one chamber; at least one component adjustable based on occupancy of said seat, said at least one component being a component which interacts with or is interacted by an occupant of said seat; and an arrangement arranged to adjust said at least one component based on occupancy of said seat, said arrangement comprising: a measurement system for measuring the pressure in said at least one chamber; an adjustment system arranged to adjust said at least one component; and a processor coupled to said measurement system and to said adjustment system and arranged to determine an adjustment for said at least one component by said adjustment system whereby said adjustment system is directed or controlled by said processor to adjust said at least one component to provide for the determined adjustment thereof. 2. The vehicle of claim 1, wherein said at least one component is an occupant restraint device and said adjustment system is a system for adjusting deployment of said occupant restraint device. 3. The vehicle of claim 2, wherein said occupant restraint device is an airbag and said deployment adjustment system is arranged to control at least one of flow of gas into said airbag, flow of gas out of said airbag, rate of generation of gas and amount of generated gas. 4. The vehicle of claim 1, wherein said at least one component is a steering wheel and said adjustment system is a system for adjusting said steering wheel. 5. The vehicle of claim 4, wherein said steering wheel adjustment system comprises a motor coupled to said steering wheel. 6. The vehicle of claim 1, wherein said at least one component is a pedal and said adjustment system is a system for adjusting said pedal. 7. The vehicle of claim 6, wherein said pedal adjustment system comprises a motor coupled to said pedal. 8. The vehicle of claim 1, wherein said bladder includes constraining means arranged in said interior for constraining flow of fluid within said interior, said measurement system measuring the pressure of the fluid in said bladder. 9. The vehicle of claim 8, wherein said constraining means comprise open cell foam. 10. The vehicle of claim 8, wherein said bladder comprises a plurality of chambers, each of said chambers being arranged at a different location in said bottom portion of said seat. 11. The vehicle of claim 10, wherein said measurement system comprises a plurality of transducers, each arranged in association with a respective one of said chambers. 12. The vehicle of claim 8, wherein said bladder consists of a single chamber, said measurement system comprising a transducer arranged in association with said single chamber. 13. The vehicle of claim 1, wherein said bladder has an interior containing fluid and a mechanism in said interior arranged to restrict flow of the fluid from one portion of said interior to another portion of said interior. 14. The vehicle of claim 13, wherein said mechanism is open cell foam. 15. The vehicle of claim 1, further comprising a container having a fluid-containing interior, said container being in flow communication with said bladder such that the fluid flows between said container and said bladder as a function of pressure applied to said container and said bladder. 16. The vehicle of claim 15, wherein said bladder is arranged in an interior of said container. 17. The vehicle of claim 15, wherein said bladder has an adjustable orifice leading to said container, said measurement system being arranged in connection with said orifice. 18. The vehicle of claim 1, further comprising a frame defining an interior compartment, said seat being arranged in said interior compartment. 19. The vehicle of claim 1, wherein the vehicle is an automobile or a truck. 20. The vehicle of claim 1, further comprising a steering wheel, said seat being arranged immediately rearward and optionally to a side of said steering wheel to thereby constitute a driver's seat or a front passenger-side seat. 21. The vehicle of claim 1, wherein said adjustment system comprises a manual control device coupled to said adjustment system for enabling manual adjustment of said at least one component via said adjustment system. 22. The vehicle of claim 1, wherein said measurement system comprises a transducer. 23. The vehicle of claim 1, wherein said affangement is arranged to adjust said at least one component during movement of the vehicle. 24. The vehicle of claim 1, wherein said at least one component comprises a plurality of components. 25. The vehicle of claim 1, wherein said at least one component is separate and apart from said seat. 26. The vehicle of claim 1, wherein said processor is arranged to determine an adjustment for said at least one component by said adjustment system based at least in part on the pressure measured by said measurement system. 27. A control system for controlling a seat in an interior compartment of a vehicle based on occupancy of the seat, comprising: a bladder having at least one chamber adapted to be arranged in a seat portion of the seat; a measurement system for measuring the pressure in said at least one chamber; a seat adjustment system arranged to adjust the seat or a part thereof in the vehicle; and a processor coupled to said measurement system and to said adjustment system for determining an adjustment for the seat or part thereof by said adjustment system based at least in part on the pressure measured by said measurement system. 28. The control system of claim 27, wherein said seat adjustment system comprises at least one motor for moving the seat or part thereof. 29. The control system of claim 27, further comprising manual control devices coupled to said processor for enabling manual adjustment of the seat or part thereof via said seat adjustment system. 30. The control system of claim 27, wherein said measurement system comprises a transducer. 31. A vehicle, comprising a frame defining an interior compartment and a seat arranged in said interior compartment, said control system of claim 27 being arranged to control adjustment of said seat or part thereof. 32. The vehicle of claim 31, wherein the vehicle is an automobile or a truck. 33. The vehicle of claim 31, further comprising a steering wheel, said seat being arranged immediately rearward of and optionally to a side of said steering wheel to thereby constitute a driver's seat or a front passenger-side seat. 34. A control system for controlling a steering wheel in a vehicle based on occupancy of the driver's seat, comprising: a bladder having at least one chamber adapted to be arranged in a seat portion of the seat; a measurement system for measuring the pressure in said at least one chamber; an adjustment system arranged to adjust the steering wheel in the vehicle; and a processor coupled to said measurement system and to said adjustment system for determining an adjustment for the steering wheel by said adjustment system based at least in part on the pressure measured by said measurement system. 35. The control system of claim 34, wherein said steering wheel adjustment system comprises a motor coupled to the steering wheel. 36. The control system of claim 34, wherein said motor is connected to a steering column which supports the steering wheel. 37. The control system of claim 34, wherein said measurement system comprises a transducer. 38. A control system for controlling a pedal in a vehicle based on occupancy of a seat, comprising: a bladder having at least one chamber adapted to be arranged in a seat portion of the seat; a measurement system for measuring the pressure in said at least one chamber; an adjustment system arranged to adjust the pedal in the vehicle; and a processor coupled to said measurement system and to said adjustment system for determining an adjustment for the pedal by said adjustment system based at least in part on the pressure measured by said measurement system. 39. The control system of claim 38, wherein said pedal adjustment system comprises a motor coupled to the pedal. 40. The control system of claim 38, wherein said measurement system comprises a transducer. 41. A control system for controlling a vehicle component based on occupancy of a seat, comprising: a bladder having at least one chamber adapted to be arranged in a seat portion of the seat; a measurement system for measuring the pressure in said at least one chamber; an adjustment system arranged to adjust the component in the vehicle; and a processor coupled to said measurement system and to said adjustment system for determining an adjustment for the component by said adjustment system based at least in part on the pressure measured by said measurement system, said bladder including constraining means arranged in said interior for constraining flow of fluid within said interior, said measurement system measuring the pressure of the fluid in said bladder. 42. The control system of claim 41, wherein said constraining means comprise open cell foam. 43. The control system of claim 41, wherein said bladder comprises a plurality of chambers, each of said chambers being adapted to be arranged at a different location in the seat portion of the seat. 44. The control system of claim 43, wherein said measurement system comprises a plurality of transducers, each arranged in association with a respective one of said chambers. 45. The control system of claim 41, wherein said bladder consists of a single chamber, said measurement system comprising a transducer arranged in association with said single chamber. 46. A vehicle, comprising a frame defining an interior compartment and a seat arranged in said interior compartment, said control system of claim 41 being arranged to control the component based on occupancy of said seat. 47. The vehicle of claim 46, wherein the vehicle is an automobile or a truck. 48. The vehicle of claim 46, further comprising a steering wheel, said seat being arranged immediately rearward of and optionally to a side of said steering wheel to thereby constitute a driver's seat or a front passenger-side seat. 49. A control system for controlling a vehicle component based on occupancy of a seat, comprising: a bladder having at least one chamber adapted to arranged in a seat portion of the seat; a measurement system for measuring the pressure in said at least one chamber; an adjustment system arranged to adjust the component in the vehicle; and a processor coupled to said measurement system and to said adjustment system for determining an adjustment for the component by said adjustment system based at least in part on the pressure measured by said measurement system, said bladder having an interior containing fluid and a mechanism in said interior arranged to restrict flow of the fluid from one portion of said interior to another portion of said interior. 50. The control system of claim 49, wherein said mechanism is open cell foam. 51. A vehicle, comprising a frame defining an interior compartment and a seat arranged in said interior compartment, said control system of claim 49 being arranged to control the component based on occupancy of said seat. 52. The vehicle of claim 51, wherein the vehicle is an automobile or a truck. 53. A control system for controlling a vehicle component based on occupancy of a seat, comprising: a bladder having at least one chamber adapted to arranged in a seat portion of the seat; a container having a fluid-containing interior, said container being in flow communication with said bladder such that the fluid flows between said container and said bladder as a function of pressure applied to said container and said bladder; a measurement system for measuring the pressure in said at least one chamber; an adjustment system arranged to adjust the component in the vehicle; and a processor coupled to said measurement system and to said adjustment system for determining an adjustment for the component by said adjustment system based at least in part on the pressure measured by said measurement system. 54. The control system of claim 53, wherein said bladder is arranged in an interior of said container. 55. The control system of claim 53, wherein said bladder has an adjustable orifice leading to said container, said measurement system being arranged in connection with said orifice. 56. A vehicle, comprising a frame defining an interior compartment and a seat arranged in said interior compartment, said control system of claim 53 being arranged to control the component based on occupancy of said seat. 57. The vehicle of claim 56, wherein the vehicle is an automobile or a truck. 58. A vehicle, comprising: a frame defining an interior compartment; a seat arranged in said compartment and having a bottom portion and a bladder arranged in said bottom portion, said bladder having at least one chamber; at least one component adjustable based on occupancy of said seat, said at least one component being a component which interacts with or is interacted by an occupant of said seat; a control module arranged to control adjustment of said at least one component; an occupant morphological measuring system arranged to obtain morphological data about an occupant of said seat and provide the morphological data to said control module, said occupant morphological measuring system including a pressure sensor for measuring a pressure in said at least one chamber which is affected by weight of the occupant, said pressure sensor generating a signal based on the measured pressure in said at least one chamber and providing said signal to said control module; and an adjustment system coupled to said control module and said at least one component and controlled by said control module to adjust said at least one component whereby said at least one component is thereby adjusted based on morphological data of the occupant. 59. The vehicle of claim 58, wherein said at least one component is a headrest connected to said seat.
